Introducing the Kathleen O. Ellis Gallery at Light Work
Gallery Dedication Ceremony: Tuesday, May 29, 5-7 pm
To honor a long-time supporter of the arts in Syracuse, Light Work is pleased to name its main gallery space for Kathleen O. Ellis. The ceremony and celebration will be held on Tuesday, May 29, from 5-7 pm. The dedication event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to Light Work at 315-443-1300 if you plan to attend the event and for parking (available in Booth Garage).
Exhibition: ALEXANDER GRONSKY — Pastoral
Light Work's main exhibition, featuring Alexander Gronsky, continues. Gronsky's detailed landscape photographs explore the outskirts of Moscow in Russia as people push beyond the city boundaries to escape their urban existence.
Other exhibitions on view are the Wounding the Black Male, Annual Student Invitational and the Transmedia Photography Annual.
Workshops at Community Darkrooms
Registration for the summer schedule has begun. Workshops includes Basic Black-and-White Photography, Photoshop (different levels), hands-on photography workshops, Light Room, and more.

Job Openings at Light Work/Community Darkrooms
Light Work seeks qualified candidates for the full-time position of Light Work/Community Darkrooms Lab Manager. The Lab Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operations of Light Work’s public-access photography and digital imaging lab facility, Community Darkrooms, its business plan, budget, payroll, and customer service needs. He or she will provide direct support to Community Darkrooms members and visiting artists and will be responsible for all financial reporting, point-of-sale reconciliation, and other darkrooms-related business.
We also have a job opening for the part-time position of Customer Service Assistant.
